Following last year's success, the Regatta will follow new and improved format launched last year!
Those changes included:
- No Lunch Break - To keep the action going, there no longer a break in events for lunch. The prize ceremony for morning events now happens as soon as the swimming events finish, followed immediately by boating events, starting with the classic Punt races. Our BBQ tent will be serving food all day, or pack a picnic lunch and eat on the dock. Please bring everything you need for the day (especially your canoes and paddle boards) when you come in the morning.
- New Fun Events for the Whole Family - To keep up with the times, the event list has been modernized. The new schedule features an all-new 3-Armed All Ages Noddle Race, a 16 & Under Life Jacket Swap Relay, and Multi-Generational Canoe Fours. To make room for these new races and accommodate a more efficient day, some well-loved Regatta classics, including all skiff races and the Voyageur relay, were retired last year.
- New Course Formats - To promote safety and efficiency, all races now start at the dock. The long swims now run out, around a buoy, and back to the dock. Paddling races now start at the dock and race to a finish line down the bay (with boats and boards being directed back down the side of the course after the conclusion of the race).
